Jersey Girl Spicy Cabbage Soup

Cabbage soup is a classic comfort food (Also a Weightwatchers recipe worth 0 points). It's almost impossible to find a recipe without high levels of sodium to add some flavor, but this one offers the same nice spicy flavor with less salt.
To make it, saute onion and (4) cloves of garlic in olive oil until they are golden brown. Add 1 cup of chopped carrots and 1 cup of chopped celery and cook for five minutes more, until they start to brown. Add six cups of low-sodium vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Add one-half of a chopped or shredded cabbage head, (4) cubes of yellow potatoes, 1bag of frozen peas 1 tsp of dry thyme, 1/4 tsp ground turmeric, and 1Tbs of yellow curry powder, cracked black pepper to taste, and definitely some spicy sauce like our Jersey Girl Sizzlin' (no sodium) Hot Sauce or just red pepper flakes. Cook on low heat for about 45 minutes to an hour until potatoes are tender and cabbage is cooked through.
